Ashley Mitchell, the infamous Zynga Poker hacker, plead guilty last week to multiple charges under the Computer Misuse Act and the Proceeds of Crime Act for stealing online poker chips in large amounts. However, according to sources, further information has come forth from a late witness.

According to Mitchell’s accusers, he hacked into the Zynga Poker server as an administrator. By logging in with this specific mask, he was able to perform administrative tasks — such as move around large amounts of chips. Apparently, while being an administrator, Mitchell was able to steal more than 400 billion chips (possibly worth over $12 million) — or did he?

This new witness, which Mitchell’s defense claims has pertinent information, has forced the judge to adjourn the case until March 14th, so that the defense can get a statement from the witness. Unfortunately for Mitchell, he will still be facing some sort of jail time — regardless of the true worth of the poker chips. Also, this is not the first time Mitchell has been caught stealing online either.

In 2008, Mitchell broke into the computer systems of his former employer to award himself a rather large payment. For his past crime, Mitchell received a suspended sentence, however, the judge will not be so nice in this current case. Jail time is almost certain for stealing over 400 billion poker chips from the online powerhouse.
